Sri Lankan hoppers & curries from Machan
Sugen Gopal’s celebrated restaurant – Roti King – has been acknowledged as one of London’s ‘greatest cheap eats’ by the likes of Time Out, The Guardian and Eater.
His second concept, Gopal’s Corner, opened at Market Hall Victoria in 2018 and quickly cemented itself as a crowd favourite, famous for lunchtime queues forming well before midday. Now, as they open a second Gopal’s Corner at Market Hall West End, they are bringing a third concept to Market Hall Fulham: Machan.
‘Machan’ literally translates to ‘brother’ or ‘mate’. This is food cooked from the heart, for the people. Inspired by Gopal’s childhood and South East Asian roots, the new Sri Lankan influenced menu heroes the famous bowl-shaped pancake, the hopper, as well as the national dish of Sri Lanka, rice and curry.
Expect bold flavours, a range of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, mouthwatering sides and accompaniments of pickles, vegetables, sambols and chutneys.
